Corner Market

CORNER market has become an ever expanding community of event creators, artists and makers, organized and curated by Elevine Berge.

It first came together as a nomadic showroom, filling a long empty storefront on a corner in our Brooklyn neighborhood for a few days in 2019. Committed to a playful and inclusive approach to the combination of art exhibition, an immersive space of vintage furniture clothing and showcasing new design and craft, we popped up again in another empty space in the early spring of 2020, and then again and again when a time and space has feels right.

Low budget and high energy, CORNER market wishes to exist outside of the now all too familiar exploitation of creatives that we find embraced by the real estate market through the “pop-up” culture. I believe in the importance of filling the many vacant storefront in all neighborhoods with local young makers, artists and performers, and my goal with CORNER market has been to keep pushing and contributing to making these spaces available at a low cost to creation, culture and life.
